Focusing on CRISPR/Cas9 technology and its potential applications in gene editing and therapies, Maria looked at the latest developments in targeting specific genes like BRCA to effectively treat breast cancer and mitigate associated risks. Through her review, Maria focused on technologies that reduce the risks of breast cancer and improve patient outcomes.

WHY

Maria's project was inspired by her fascination with the potential of CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Maria was also motivated by her held passion for STEM, biology, and genetics in healthcare.
